Online Writing – How To Plan Ahead For Success

Okay so you want to be an online writer.  You know there are plenty of opportunities out there – you just have to find the right ones for you.  

So how do you put together a plan that will result in becoming a successful online writer?

Well for starters you need to define what success is in your terms.  Now this could be very different from my definition of success.  That’s why I haven’t told you what success is.  For you it could be getting one article job a week.  For me it could be bringing in $2000+ a week.  We are all different and what matters is that you have a target – a definition of success – that fires you up and gets you going in the right direction.

Once you have that target in mind, you need to think about how you can get there.  Now when you start looking around and applying for various different writing jobs, you will find that there will be a certain amount that you will never hear back from.  That means you cannot apply for one job a week and expect to hit your target.  You might find you have to locate and apply for ten jobs a week to be sure of getting one of them.

So in this example you could apply for two every weeknight so you hit your target of ten by Friday evening.  If this isn’t working look at how you are doing things and adjust your plan if need be.  The important thing is to keep going and continue to plan ahead.  That plan doesn’t have to be set in stone – you can change it if it doesn’t appear to be getting you closer towards your goal.

Just be aware that you can achieve all kinds of goals when you get started in online writing – you just have to keep going long enough to achieve them!
